Paul, I scan on an old ScanDual IV and print on an epson r2400. I like Ilford's Gold Fibre Silk and Galerie Smooth Pearl for papers. Both are beautiful papers when fed good scans. I sometimes think that I might enjoy a full wet darkroom, but I just don't have the space.

Hi Matt,

I like the new version better too.

Question : how do you get your photos printed these days? darkroom? scan+home inkjet? custom-lab? scan+wal-mart?

I am thinking of jumping back into tri-x but I wonder what I will do if I want a print to hang on the wall without building a darkroom again after all these years (which has also crossed my mind)

I just uploaded a revised version. I'm a bit happier with this. Compensating developers like diluted rodinal make keeping the highlight down easy, but they lower the highlight contrast so much that it's hard to tease out any detail.

Maybe flat is the wrong word. I'd like to see more of a difference between the white of Kate's shirt sleeve and the tone of her skin. She's pale, but not that pale.

Hi Matt, It doesn't look "flat" on my screen. What do others think?

Yep, m6/50/fp4/rodinal. It feels a little to flat to me but the expression is nice. Getting separation in those highlights and upper midtones continues to elude me.

Yet another lovely portrait of Kate. Great lighting and a wonderful expression. Was this taken with the m6/50mm combo?
