Width of Expression (04370013)

Hexar RF, ZM Biogon 35, Delta 400, HC 110B

It’s all over the strange web backwater that is the rangefinder crowd; Cosina has a new 35 F1.4. It’s not clear if it’s M or LTM mount or even if it will be available outside Japan. If google translate is to be believed it will offer ‘width of expression,’ ‘throttle opening blur taste,’ and a ‘Food dedicated’. If nothing else it looks like a good compact alternative to the brilliant but giant CV 35 F1.2. Get your fix of wild speculation here and here.

Now Matt, this picture of Kate does not appear grainy on my monitor. I see that it is Delta 400 and HC110B. So some are grainy and others not, or is this a third roll developed differently? Oh, I forgot, you have Photoshop!?

Guy, if they don’t import it to the states, I might take you up on that ;-)

Bob,it’s hard to explain why some are grainy and others are not, as I didn’t treat this one any differently in photoshop than any of the others, except that it possibly got a bit less sharpening. The recent landscape shots of the plains are perhaps grainy because they were purposely overexposed; I gave them an extra stop to help with the low contrast and to make sure the meter wasn’t fooled by all that white snow.
